ICOM - International Council of Museums is an organisation for museums all over the world.  It has over 21 000 members all over the world, institutions and individual members. Estonian National Committee of ICOM was founded in 1992. The Chairperson of ICOM Estonian National Committee is Urmas Dresen (Maritime Museum).  ICAM - International Confederation of Architectural Museums was founded in August 1979 in Helsinki in order to maintain contacts between architecture museums and similar organisations, who are concerned with the promotion of architecture and architectural history, which are associated with a museum function and available to the public.  DOCOMOMO - Documentation and Conservation of buildings, sites and neighbourhoods of Modern Movement was founded in 1989 in Eindhoven. Estonian working group was founded in 1992, at Bauhaus Dessau (K. Hallas-Murula, K. Kodres, M. Kalm).
