Seminar “Making of Olympic Cities: Architecture, Planning and Design”
You are warmly invited to participate in the seminar “Making of Olympic Cities: Planning, Architecture, and Design” taking place on Thursday, September 25 as part of the closing programme of the exhibition “Sailing Forward. How the 1980 Olympic Regatta Changed Tallinn”.
The seminar will focus on Olympic Cities through the lens of their planning, architecture, and design. We will explore: How different cities have prepared for hosting the Olympic Games? What it means for a city to host such a large-scale event? How far-reaching the impact of Olympic urbanism can be? What kinds of design phenomena have accompanied the Olympic Games? How did Tallinn prepare for the 1980 Olympic sailing regatta?
